Charlie Wilson Votes For The Restore Act
Rep. Charlie Wilson’s office sent out a press release today outlining his reasons for supporting the Restore Act (H.R. 3773).
“I’m pleased we had the chance to revisit this vital issue. In August I felt I had to vote for an imperfect bill because without it this country would have been unprotected. Now we have comprehensive legislation that addresses the issue of national security in the proper way while protecting our civil liberties.”
– Rep. Charlie Wilson
I haven’t had a chance to look over the bill that passed the House tonight but I’ve heard the FISA bill that’s likely to go before the Senate won’t include retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies. Wilson’s press release also points out that the bill is endorsed by the liberal group “Center for American Progress“.

I would be willing to bet that he Wilson didn’t even read this bill. If you go to the bill posting you’ll see that voting was straight down party lines, and on top of that the bill was sponsored by one of your infamous socialists, John Conyers of MI. I would be willing to bet Wilson didn’t read it.
So much for being a “blue dog” democrat, Wilson is making the slow walk to full fledge Soros protégé. Yep, old Charlie is a now a Pink Pomeranian.

contra my conservative friend calling john conyers a socialist and noting charlie is not much a blue dog…
such is the burden and price we pay for actually saving something James Madison wrote
called the Bill of Rights
who are these supposed limited government conservatives who criticize congressional votes which actually support true american values…
its good to see charlie come to the solid liberal side of this issue and eschew the catch 22 of security vs human rights false dichotomy so many hitler youth types among wish to foster into yet another congressional cycle
