I don’t really know what to say about this one other than that it’s going to make some people mad.

“This is the best chance we have had in a very long time to create some clarity on 2nd Amendment issues.  If the Supreme Court strikes down this ban, it will set a precedent that will have a real impact on gun owners across the U.S.

“Finally, gun owners could be given the right they are promised in the Constitution.”

– Rep. Zack Space

    Who is it going to make mad?!? Most of the Democrats in his district are hunters and responsible gun owners.

    Who exactly, in his district, is upset about this?

    Sorry, there was more to this post that ended up getting omitted. I should have changed that line.

    I don’t know who in his district cares but I’m not all that thrilled with it. I’m no legal expert but I think there’s a serious possibility that this case will create a HUGE setback for local gun control laws.

    Space’s district, like mine, is definitely pro-gun. I can understand that, hunting is popular (and necessary) here. But when it comes to things like assault rifles and handguns I think some restrictions are called for.

    David;

    Thanks for pointing out that Zack Space is pro-2nd Amendment. But you continue to drink the socialist Kool-Aid as demonstrated by your regurgitation of the hand gun/assault rifle dribble. Banning these types of weapons will do nothing but put law abiding folks at advantage with the criminal.
    But why stop there, why not ban the knife or the letter opener. Then we could go after the potato peeler and the baseball bats. Then we could ban the finger nail cutters. :-)

    So you think that anyone that wants to go out and buy an AK-47 should be able to do so with no questions asked?

    If someone wants to carry a gun (other than a hunting rifle) for personal protection I don’t think it’s too much to ask that they demonstrate that they know how to handle it properly.
