Obama, Clinton To Likely Get Equal NH Delegates
So we all probably already know that Hillary won, but what exactly does that mean? Surprisingly, beyond PR, it doesn’t mean all that much.
Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama each won nine delegates in New Hampshire’s Democratic primary, followed by former Sen. John Edwards with 4 delegates, an AP analysis of primary results shows.
We all knew this race was far from over. New Hampshire just reinforced that point.

Interesting. I hadn’t heard that they were going to split the delegates in any news report. The radio reports are all focusing on “the comeback kid”.
What is more puzzling is that the polls all showed Obama as having 10+% lead, but that lead evaporated in the voting booths. It’s not clear if some of his voters decided not to vote (due to his large lead) or if a lot of undecideds came to the pools or if people actually changed their minds.
(This isn’t pro or anti Obama or Clinton, more amazement)
You’re right, it’s far from over. I predict even greater swings on the Republican side when the south gets involved.

I believe they always split the delegates in the primaries.
As for the polls, my stock answer is that if the polls were always right we wouldn’t even need to vote. I think Hillary gained some support in the last few days and John McCain took a large chunk of the independent voters that many thought would go towards Obama.

Different states have different rules, but (I believe) in SC, voters registered as unaffiliated can vote in the republican primary, but not the democratic. Primaries are held on different days.
I typically don’t follow the primaries in to much detail. This year, I’m following a little closer.

There’s a report out of voter fraud with electronic counting of votes in the NH primary. According to the summay (haven’t read the article), Obama would have actually beat Clinton if the votes were corrected.
