Governor Ted Strickland just sent out the following email supporting Hillary Clinton.

Dear David,

Today is an important day for Hillary’s campaign. As I write this message, millions of American’s are casting their vote to make Hillary Clinton our next president.

On March 4, less than one month from today, it will be Ohio’s turn to vote in our primary. In order to win, Hillary and I need your help. There are thousands of Ohio voters we need to call this week and remind them to vote on March 4. We can’t do it without you.

To volunteer, please click here.

This presidential election is making history, and Hillary is leading the way. The time for change is now, and Hillary is ready to lead. But she can’t do it alone. Every state and every delegate will matter, which means everything you and I can do before March 4 makes a big difference.

Won’t you help us? Click here to get involved now.

You understand how much is at stake for us here in Ohio and for millions of other Americans. Hillary is simply the best qualified candidate to get our economy running again. She has a plan to create millions of new jobs and address the home foreclosure crisis. But she can’t get it done unless we get her to the White House first.

I need your help to reach out to thousands of Ohio voters this week. Won’t you join me and help win the Buckeye State for Hillary?

Click here to get involved now!

Sincerely,

Governor Ted Strickland

Gov. Ted Strickland will coming to the Ohio Valley a week from today to speak at the annual Jefferson County Democratic Party’s Christmas dinner. Here are the details from the Herald Star:

Gov. Ted Strickland will be the featured guest at the annual Christmas dinner hosted by the Jefferson County Democratic Party Dec. 8 at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville.

Dinner will feature Italian salad, baked chicken, Italian roasted pork loin, pasta, scalloped potatoes, fall harvest vegetables and assorted desserts.

The Edison High School Chamber Ensemble will perform, and music will be provided by DJ Rich Sounds.

Attendees are welcome to bring a donation of non-perishable food for the Urban Mission of Steubenville. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Tickets are a $30 donation. Contact John Abdalla, chairman, at (740) 381-9119 for reservations.

From the times I’ve seen him I think Ted’s a pretty good speaker. If you’re on the fence about going I’d highly recommend it.

On a side note I hope to get the political calendar up and running again before the end of the year. I’ve been looking into new ways to do it since the move but so far I haven’t had much luck.

Because we’re happy with him staying right were he is. A recent poll show that Ohioans oppose the idea of Vice President Strickland by a 2:1 margin.

21. Do you think Governor Ted Strickland is qualified to be Vice President of the United States or don’t you think so?

Yes 29% | No 49% |DK/NA 23%

22. Would you like Ted Strickland to run as the Democratic candidate for Vice President in 2008 or not?

Yes 25% | No 53% |DK/NA 22%

23. If Ted Strickland is the Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate in 2008, would that make you more likely to vote for the Democratic ticket, less likely, or wouldn’t it make a difference?

More likely 13% | Less likely 11% | Would’t make diff 68% | DK/NA 23%

And Strickland’s approval rating as governor? Sixty-one percent.

As for me, I don’t like the idea of Strickland leaving us. If it actually happens I’ll probably have to get a t-shirt printed saying something along the lines of “Vote Clinton, Then Throw Her Out” (Yes, I’m kidding).

After the backlash over FEMA’s fake press conference a few days ago you’d think people would learn that kind of thing is frowned upon and avoid it (at least for a while). Well you’d be wrong.

At a recent campaign stop Hillary Clinton staffers approached people beforehand and suggested specific questions that they could ask.

Sen. Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign admitted late Friday that a staffer spoke to potential questioners at a recent event, but denied that the New York Democrat had any knowledge about what she would be asked by the audience.

Grinnell College’s “Scarlet and Black” newspaper reported a student’s account of being pulled aside before a campaign stop in Newton, Iowa and asked to pose a specific question.

“They were canned,” Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff claimed in an interview with the newspaper. “One of the senior staffers told me what [to ask].”

I’ve never had any problem with Governor (and my former Congressman) Strickland, but if he’s going to endorse someone that does stuff like this I’m really going to have to rethink my position on him.
