I am a concealed carry instructor in ohio. This person does not represent the thousands of people that have a concealed carry permit. All guns should be carried in a holster, and there are holsters manufactured to carry a gun in the pocket. I always advocate carring a gun in a holster. Not only for the safety of others but to prevent serious injury to the carrier. A gun is only dangerous if handled carelessly.

I am a disabled veteran who severed my country for 12 years (6/81-9/93) hononrably. VA declared me Unemployable effective January 12 1998 - approved May 2004, because of frost-bite on fingers/toes hands and feet, Rhaynaud Disease, bleeding ulcer, severe pain, and other multiple service connected disabilities.

My VA counselor advised me to apply for SS disability in June 2004.

I did and was denied three time and received a final denial via a review judge (April 2007) based on me not be totally disabled before 1998.

Why would SS deny anyone who has contributed for more than 30 who now need it. Who and where do I get help?

Great, me and100 of my friends will each start our own side security business so we can buy machineguns.

It is quite obvious the man had very little training in carrying a firearm and even less common sense. 99% of people carrying concealed weapons have had training in safety and proper safety precautions. Someone dropping a weaqpon and having an accidental discharge should not be allowed to have a permit and should be required to take a course in gun safety aqnd proper carry techiniques.

Not one of the candidates cares what is happening to us and our families. This is the most disappointing political season in my life, and the election and vote tampering ought to be putting people in prison, but it is ignored. Voting my party affiliation is no longer a motivator for me- all either party has done is let us down and turn the place into a fascist regime waiting for a dictator who may never leave office, thanks to our do-nothing democratic 'representatives.' Did they forget why we sent them to Washington? Why should I believe they'll remember that now?

My city has two Christian radio stations. One is FM and is geared towards music, the other is AM talk radio. The FM station typically stays out of politics, but does talk about abortion (which some would consider political). I'd venture that some percentage are Democrat, but most Republican. The AM talk station has many different programs, from financial to news oriented. Most of the ideas lean heavily towards Republicans, but they don't hesitate to show Republican errors or Democratic positive sides when they fit their viewpoints.

I find it interesting that your comment is that Christian Radio has a larger Republican audience. This year has been interesting. It seems that the two leading Democrats are making a big deal out of pointing out that they are Christian. I believe that Obama is trying to overcome a (false) belief that he's Muslim and there have certainly been some (false) propaganda to that effect. Former President Clinton openly said he was Baptist and Senator Clinton is (I believe) Methodist.

In past times, the Republicans have gotten a lot of "grief" for their ties to religion, but this year, the Democrats have had their share of religious appearances.

My personal opinion is that I like knowing about a candidate's religious affiliation, but I don't trust their statements, I'd rather look at their actions. And I won't cast my vote based on that affiliation, or lack of.

Oh, the country stations I listen to probably lean more Republican, but I'm in a state that is more Republican. I firmly believe that they would lean the other way in a Democratic state. They follow the audience.

I was only pointing out McCain's Senate avoidance to make the hypocrisy point.

Randy:
Ben pretty much nailed my thinking. Those two genres are typically thought to have a larger Republican audience.

I dont see the avoiding Senate votes as a real big winner - like it was on Kerry. Either Clinton/Obama will have to make the same decisions.
